High-level Conference on “Belt and Road” Intellectual Property Cooperation Held in China

A high-level conference on “Belt and Road” held in Beijing on July 21-22, aiming at intellectual property field cooperation. Representatives of WIPO and GCC participate the conference as observers. Acknowledging the importance of international intellectual property cooperation among countries along the Belt and Road regions, following cooperation suggestions are proposed for enhancing the protection upon the intellectual property and the critical resource of national development:

1. Enhancing the interaction and cooperation on intellectual property laws, policy, and strategy.
2. Encouraging the intellectual property offices of each country to improve the service structure for IPR applicants and users.
3. Encouraging practical cooperation regarding IPR protection.
4. Supporting the interaction and cooperation on improving public IPR consciousness, so as to pro　 　mote and establish the public respect for IPR.
5. Supporting the cooperation upon culturing skilled IPR practitioners.
6. Encouraging the IPR information sharing and utilizing.
